Elizabeth Drotning Hartwell
Elizabeth Drotning Hartwell joined the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2012. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she received a B.A. cum laude in English, religion, and women’s studies from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1999. Elizabeth graduated with a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law (Minneapolis, Minnesota) in 2006.
Elizabeth is a member of the New Mexico State Bar, U.S. District Court for the Tenth Circuit, and the New Mexico Federal District Court. She practices general civil law with an emphasis on family law/domestic relations, children, guardianship, adoption, employment, and civil rights. Elizabeth is experienced at handling parental child abduction cases and is a member of the International Child Abduction Attorney Network. She is also trained in collaborative divorce and is a member of the New Mexico Collaborative Practice Group and the Ristra Collaborative Professionals.
A freelance cellist and singer, Elizabeth is the President of the Board of Directors of Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest. She has previously served on the Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program and the University of St. Thomas School of Law Alumni Advisory Board. Elizabeth lives with her husband, daughter, and son in Albuquerque.
